The SWIFT system represents years of development and partnership. Collaborating with OneSubsea, our long-term partner, we have brought an innovative, effective solution into operation.
Traditional systems typically require heavy and costly topside equipment to power, control, and monitor tubing hanger installations and retrievals. However, the SWIFT system delivers the same functionality subsea via an in-riser control module integrated within the Drill Pipe Landing String, removing the need for umbilicals and surface control systems. By eliminating the need for umbilical spooling or clamping during both deployment and retrieval, the system streamlines operations and reduces complications.
Technical excellence and customization
At the core of SWIFT’s design is Envirex’ philosophy of modularity and customization. The system is built with standard modules designed in-house, allowing easy adaptation to meet each customer’s unique requirements. Envirex’ specially engineered pumps, capable of reaching up to 1035 bar (15k psi), are integrated within the system, ensuring reliable performance and precise control at low power consumption without the need for hydraulic accumulators.
The SWIFT has been engineered to be compact yet physically flexible, housing essential components such as pumps, flow meters, filters, and valves. These components work together seamlessly during the tubing hanger installation, while its physical flexibility minimizes strain on the components as they pass through the flex joint.
In addition, using the SWIFT enhances safety by reducing the need for personnel in red zones. With fewer workers exposed to high-risk areas, the risk of injury and/or accidents are significantly lowered.
Overall, previous operations demonstrated a significant reduction in time, risk, and cost, highlighting SWIFT’s efficiency and reliability in subsea installations. All of these results were possible because of the great collaboration and dedication of the whole project team.
Advanced software integration with Ixys’ VJU
The SWIFT’s software is powered by Ixys’ VJU Studio 3. This specialized interface ensures precise control and monitoring, enhancing the system’s operational efficiency and user experience. Ixys has played an important role in developing and fine-tuning the software, contributing to SWIFT’s overall great functionality.
